Frequently asked questions about websites, web apps and working together

I am Maurice de Felice, a freelance web developer in Augsburg, Germany. I build websites from €1,490 and web apps and SaaS platforms from €5,990 with Laravel and React – on site in Augsburg and Munich, remotely across Germany. Here I answer the questions prospective clients ask me most often before a project: prices, timelines, technology, references, process, paying in instalments and how your website gets found in Google, ChatGPT and Gemini.

Questions and answers

How much does a website cost?

A one-page website (starter) costs from €1,490, a multi-page business website from €3,490, a custom web app or SaaS platform from €5,990 – each as a fixed price that you receive after the free initial call. Maintenance and smaller changes are billed at €95/hour. All prices are final prices. Under § 19 of the German VAT Act (small business rule), no VAT is charged.

How long does development take?

A starter website is usually online in 2–3 weeks, a business website in 4–6 weeks. For web apps the timeline depends on the scope and is fixed in the fixed-price offer. I completed the SaaS platform YachtBrokerBid in 2026 – the client confirms that the tight schedule was even beaten.

Do you develop with Laravel and React?

Yes. Laravel (PHP) with a REST API and PostgreSQL in the backend, React with TypeScript in the frontend – that is my stack for every web app. With it I built YachtBrokerBid (yachtbrokerbid.com) end to end in 2026: a SaaS auction platform where vetted yacht brokers compete with sealed offers for the mandate to sell a yacht – with a transaction-safe credit system, Stripe payments, role-based login and multiple languages. It is live and public. I have been developing web applications since 2021; in my full-time job I am a backend developer at one of the largest comparison portals in Germany.

Which projects have you delivered?

Two client projects are public. YachtBrokerBid (yachtbrokerbid.com): a SaaS platform with Laravel, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and Stripe, built by me as full-stack developer in 2026 – live after 12 weeks; 20 had been agreed. DARMEL e. K. (darmel.de): a business website for a cleaning company that was barely visible on Google before and had no way to get in touch through its website – delivered in 3 weeks, with a GDPR-compliant contact form, 51 service landing pages and on-page SEO; according to the client, search performance on Google has doubled since.

How does my website get found in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google?

By answering your customers’ questions directly and in a machine-readable way: copy that gives the answer in the first paragraph, structured data (Schema.org), an llms.txt for AI crawlers and a fast loading time. That is exactly how this website is built – my last two clients found me through ChatGPT and Gemini respectively.

Do you only work in Augsburg or remotely as well?

Both. I meet clients in Augsburg and Munich in person; with clients across Germany I work remotely – by video, email and phone, with regular progress updates. My office is at Schillstraße 76, 86167 Augsburg, Germany.

Do you offer maintenance and support after launch?

Yes. The business website includes 3 months of support, web apps and SaaS platforms 6 months; the starter website includes no support period. After that I take care of maintenance and changes at €95/hour or under a maintenance contract.

Why a freelancer instead of an agency?

You work directly with the developer who builds your project – no project manager in between and no agency mark-up in the price. That means: usually a reply within 24 hours, one contact from the idea to launch, and code written to the same standard I write in my full-time job as a backend developer at one of the largest comparison portals in Germany.

Which technologies do you work with?

Laravel and PHP in the backend, React and TypeScript in the frontend, PostgreSQL as the database, Stripe for payments, Tailwind CSS and Vite for the frontend – plus automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. For a business website without app features, HTML, CSS and JavaScript are often enough; that is how the DARMEL e. K. website (darmel.de) is built.

How does a project work?

In five steps. 1. Free initial call: goals, scope, content and timeline. 2. Fixed-price offer, then the plan and a design draft for review. 3. Development with Laravel and React, with regular progress updates and tests. 4. Final test, your approval and the launch. 5. Support and maintenance after launch if you want it.

The process in detail

How does the initial call work?

The initial call is free and without obligation – on site in Augsburg and the surrounding area (Augsburg district, Friedberg, Gersthofen, Stadtbergen, Königsbrunn), in Munich, by video or by phone. We clarify goals, scope, content and timeline; afterwards you receive a fixed-price offer. I usually reply to enquiries within 24 hours.

Are your websites GDPR-compliant?

Yes. All packages are GDPR-compliant – starter website, business website and web apps. That includes SSL encryption, a contact form with a privacy notice, the cookie banner and, for the business website, the analytics. Which additional data protection requirements apply to you is something we clarify in the free initial call.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. I work in milestones: a deposit before the project starts, then one payment after each accepted milestone. Which milestones those are and what they cost is set out in the fixed-price offer.

Do I need hosting and my own domain – do you take care of that?

You book hosting and domain yourself – I tell you exactly what you need and set everything up. The contracts are in your name and you keep the access. I do not offer a hosting package of my own.

Who owns the code of my website?

You do. After completion you receive the full repository; the code and content belong to you. You can keep working on it or have someone else continue – without asking me.

Do you take over an existing website or an existing Laravel or React project?

Yes. I take over existing Laravel and React projects including security updates – at €95/hour or under a maintenance contract. The same applies to websites someone else built: maintenance, updates and smaller changes. I look at the state of the project first; what makes sense is something we clarify in the free initial call.

Do you also work for companies in Munich?

Yes. I am based in Augsburg and come to you in Munich for the initial call, the kick-off and important meetings. Development runs remotely with regular progress updates.
