Freelance Laravel developer for web apps, APIs and project takeovers

Looking for someone to build your web application with Laravel or to take over an existing Laravel project? I am Maurice de Felice, a freelance developer in Augsburg, Germany. I build backends, REST APIs and complete web apps with Laravel and React – new applications from €5,990 at a fixed price, takeover and maintenance of existing projects at €95/hour. Instead of a Laravel agency you get one developer who knows your code and answers questions directly.

What do I build with Laravel?

  • Web apps and SaaS platforms with user accounts, roles and billing – from the first version to day-to-day operation.
  • REST APIs as the backbone for a React frontend or for connecting other systems.
  • Stripe payments where the server verifies every payment before anything is booked – with credit or balance logic if needed.
  • Admin areas for approvals, user management and corrections, so your team can manage without a developer.
  • Multilingual applications whose copy can be changed without a new release.
  • Takeover and maintenance of existing Laravel projects, including security updates.

When is Laravel the right choice?

Laravel is the right tool when your product has to do more than display content: when users sign in, enter data, place offers or pay. It suits businesses whose processes live in spreadsheets and email threads today, and founders who want to bring a SaaS idea to market as a lean first version.

For a plain marketing website you do not need Laravel. The guide Laravel vs WordPress explains where the line is.

What does a Laravel project look like in practice?

With Laravel I built YachtBrokerBid, an auction platform for selling yachts: owners list their yacht, vetted brokers bid with sealed offers for the mandate. The Laravel backend provides the REST API for the React frontend, manages roles for owners, brokers and admins, and runs a credit balance based on double-entry bookkeeping – every booking in a database transaction with row locks.

Payments go through Stripe Checkout; the server checks every payment directly with Stripe before credits are added. The platform runs on PostgreSQL, is multilingual and went live after 12 weeks – 20 had been agreed. Full details in the YachtBrokerBid case study.

What happens when I take over an existing Laravel project?

  • Code review first: Laravel version, dependencies, tests, deployment and obvious security issues – you get a short written assessment.
  • Updates in safe steps: framework and package updates with tests, so nothing breaks unnoticed.
  • Documentation of what I find, so knowledge does not sit in one head – including mine.
  • Ongoing work at €95/hour or under a maintenance contract, with a clear list of what is planned next.

Freelance Laravel developer or agency?

An agency brings several people – and bills them. With me you talk directly to the developer: short lines, usually a reply within 24 hours, and technical decisions made by someone who knows the code. I have worked as a backend developer at a large German comparison portal since 2021; freelance projects run alongside that with planned weekly capacity, which I state openly so you can plan around it.

Prices and timelines for complete applications are on web app development; the cost calculator gives you a range in a minute.

Yes: Laravel in the backend, React with TypeScript in the frontend, PostgreSQL as the database. YachtBrokerBid is built exactly this way.

Yes. Laravel provides the data through a REST API that a frontend or another system can use. On YachtBrokerBid, the React frontend works with exactly such an API.

New projects start on the current Laravel release with PostgreSQL. For takeovers I work with the version that is there and plan updates step by step. Hosting is booked by you on common web or cloud hosting; I tell you exactly what the application needs and set it up.

Yes. Calls by video, intermediate versions online at their own address, communication in English or German.
